Easy to Find Herbal Fluoride Toothpaste in Thailand

Product Review: OK Herbal, Dentamate, and Skynlab Herbal Toothpaste

I went to the dentist three times while I was in Thailand. Bangkok is a health tourism hotspot. I didn’t go to the doctor because I waited too long to make an appointment. I headed to Europe before I could schedule the office I wanted. There are 11 million+ people in Bangkok! You should book ahead if you have a specific provider or location in mind. I was able to find a highly-rated dentist whom I visited during each of my month-long Bangkok trips. More on that and the Philips Zoom home whitening kit that I picked up. (I haven’t started it yet because now I am in Europe, and hello, red wine and espresso! I’ll wait until the New Year to begin and review that process.) For now, if you want herbal toothpaste in Thailand, here are three Thai brands I tried and recommend. I do use fluoride-based toothpaste because I am super cavity-prone. Still, I appreciate an herbal base and the addition of plant extracts, and I was able to find some good combos.

My favorite flavor was OK Herbal in Watermelon. I picked this up at the grocery store in the mall across from Icon Siam. This is an herbal fluoride toothpaste made with:

  • cloves
  • guava leaves
  • menthol
  • peppermint
  • eucalyptus

I wish I had more of this. A little goes a long way since it’s concentrated. The flavor is so mellow and yet still refreshing. I picked this up for my long flight and as a toothpaste to take with me on the go. Even though this one has SLS (sulfates), I liked it so much that now I’m using it as my everyday toothpaste.

If you are looking for a sulfate-free herbal toothpaste in Thailand, here are two other options.

Dentamate Herbal Extract Toothpaste in Fruitastic Yuzu Mint flavor is a winner. I tried the Peach Mint flavor, but this one has a more natural taste. It is an organic fluoride herbal blend made with:

  • aloe vera extract
  • yuzu extract
  • propolis extract
  • papaya enzymes
  • vitamin C
  • menthol

It is free of SLS/SLES, parabens, and triclosan. I like to use this one when I scrape my tongue in the morning. Then, I don’t have to have a super minty mouth for my protein shake or coffee. I finished my travel tube, but it lasted a while. I did see it came in larger sizes and is one of the toothpastes that I saw the most in larger kitchy tourist shops in the malls.

I bought a small tongue scraper in the beauty section on the first floor at Central World. It is a great size and design, with two types of ends. I love it.

For herbal toothpaste in Thailand with fluoride and a mint flavor, try Skynlab Organic Premium Herbs Toothpaste. Its herbal and mineral ingredients are:

  • cinnamon bark oil
  • clove bud oil
  • sage leaf extract
  • myrrh resin extract
  • propolis extract
  • oak leaf extract
  • rhatany root extract
  • organic chamomile flower extract
  • organic licorice root
  • camphor
  • borneol
  • menthol
  • Himalayan pink salt

This one has more of a clay-like texture you tend to see in natural toothpaste, but it foamed up nicely. I thought I noticed an immediate whitening effect. It has no SLS/SLES, parabens, triclosan, or alcohol. It has no traditional sulfates. But it does have Sodium Coco-Sulfate, a synthetic surfactant from coconut oil. I got this one as a sample at a pharmacy shop in the mall, so I only got a few uses out of it. Thai drugstore retailers and grocery stores carry this brand.

My small Thai toothpaste tube collection is almost out! I reccomend you try an herbal toothpaste in Thailand. They sold me on the fruity, minty flavors. I’ll see what new European toothpaste I can find to help with the coffee and wine stains from my trip to Portugal. I want to find a purple whitening toothpaste to complement Philip’s whitening system.
